Befriend the bees! The month of May is not only a very busy period for the bees themselves; it’s also a great time for all of us to help these fantastic little creatures.
In celebration and support of these precious pollinators, I’ve designed a special greetings card with the image of my hand embroidered Queen Honey Bee. These cards are on sale throughout the month of May at the special price of £3.00 each, which includes UK p&p, (extra charges will apply for overseas delivery). For each card purchased a donation of 10% will be made to The British Beekeepers Association,
a charity which provides education and training in the art of beekeeping and also supports scientific research projects for the health and wellbeing of honey bees.
A third of all food produced in the world is dependent on insect pollination, so understanding and protecting the bees and the natural world is important to us all.
The honey bee is the only insect that produces food eaten by man, creating the valuable natural product of honey, as well as beeswax and propolis.
From May 17th you can also help by joining the #greatbritishbeecount to take part in the big bee survey, which provides researchers with valuable insights to help bees thrive.
May 20th will also mark the very first World Bee Day – a celebration of bees to raise awareness of their vital role in agriculture, worldwide ecosystems and humankind in general.
So please support this very worthy cause in whichever way you can, as the beautiful bee is one of the wonderful little things that help to run our world.
